This foodie and culture tour is a jam-packed adventure!
Day 1: Since our first evening is later, we don't leave until after the lunch hour. We have a special evening planned at the Paine Art Center & Gardens where they will be hosting “The Nature of Light: An Exploration After Dark” where our admission includes their mansion exhibits inside and outside in the gardens. Our overnight stay in Fond du Lac includes a complimentary lounge drink prior to departing for a nice family-style dinner on the water before our evening festivities begin.
Day 2: Welcome to Milwaukee! Our day includes a tour at Faris Gourmet Popcorn, a stop at Lakeside Park on Lake Winnebago, and a boxed lunch enroute to Milwaukee. We cruise aboard the Milwaukee River Cruiseline to enjoy the Milwaukee River and beautiful Lake Michigan. Hilton Garden Inn - Brookfield is our overnight for our entire stay. Dinner at Lychee Gardens and presentation from Chinese Historical Society. A fun evening at Boerner Botanical Gardens annual China Lights Festival with VIP behind-the-scenes tour, followed by free-time to view the lantern festival.
Day 3: Oktoberfest! (Yes, we know, it’s only September.) A Historical Society guide steps on board for a tour that ends at Forest Home Cemetery. A guided tour of the Pabst Mansion and lunch at Mader’s Restaurant with a German sampler. We'll have a little time to explore the 3rd Ward to browse and shop. Our evening includes a Brewers home game at American Family Field! Dinner is on your own at the ballpark.
Day 4: A City of Steeples and Cultures! Milwaukee is known to be a cultural melting pot. We’ll visit some of the most famous Churches - big and small - and wine it all together with some wonderful food culture. Tour an original basilica, with the largest collection of Tiffany stained glass windows in the Midwest, plus one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s final creations. The Milwaukee Public Market, 3rd Ward will provide an abundance of lunch items and locations to choose from. Dinner will be at the Pfister Hotel’s, Mason Street Grill, after a look at some of their spectacular artwork.
Day 5: Fantastic Finds of Milwaukee! Chef Susan Beno will hop on board showing her favorite Milwaukee spots sharing cooking tips and tricks. Susan will escort us to Trader Joe’s and help us find the best they have to offer. We’ll also make stops at Glorioso’s Italian Market and Sciortino’s Bakery, The Spice House, the Wisconsin Cheese Mart, and Usinger’s.
